In 2019, a traumatic event completely changed my life. After it happened, I became depressed and suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. No matter what I tried to do, my mind constantly relived the negative experience. Until I discovered reiki. Reiki put me on the path to be assertive once again and live the life I wanted for myself and my daughter. So, I became a certified reiki practitioner, and it forced me to be present—so I could become my former self.

For Christmas that year, I did something special for everyone in my life. My daughter loves do-it-yourself projects, so we made homemade candles as gifts. These candles were made with essential oils and crystals designed for relaxation, spiritual cleansing, and more. 

Well, the gifts were so loved that my family and friends recommended the candles to others. So many people were asking for the candles that my therapeutic hobby turned into me becoming a Momtrepreneur—and Awaken Yourself was born!
